Confidence is bloomed.
It's like a delicate, gorgeous flower that's been watered and nurtured from your life's experiences.
First, it's planted. Then comes the discomfort, stretching, emerging, enduring, and growth. Then blooms confidence in all its glory.
And just like a flower attracts bees, confidence attracts engagement; influencing a readiness to absorb its goodness and spread for good purpose.
However, opposite of your confidence, you have insecurities.
Insecurities are what you stumble across or discover throughout each season of life, ready to drown out and destroy any possibility of growth. Sometimes they unwelcomely linger and buzz about in your thoughts.
Point is, insecurities are inevitable, but confidence is bloomed.
We all know, just like a flower will be nibbled on by insects, our confidences will be nibbled on by insecurities. You have to protect it!
How about I call them: InSECTurities. Sounds about right.
It brings about a sense of sadness when we find a flower that's been chewed up by the insects that sought to destroy it. Don't let your insecurities do the same.
Here are four encouraging ways to protect your confidence:
1. Water it daily.
Don't let your confidence wither and dry. Water it. Shower it with engagement to keep it alive and known. You do this by actively reminding yourself that you CAN accomplish whatever it is that's ahead of you, because the fact is, you already have conquered it before. Just like a flower knows to grow, produce, and grow again. Your confidence will do the same.
2. Add positive light.
Be positive with your confidence, don't let it get to your head. Remember, your confidence came from the same dirt that everyone else's did, so be the light with your confidence, not a draught. Allow your confidence to shine light onto others and let them know they can bloom too. Spread the light. Be the light.
3. Feed your confidence.
Allowing your confidence to go hungry will only allow nature's negative side effects to settle in. For example: other's opinions, low self esteem, failed attemps, whispered lies. Feed and surround your confidence with new challenges to keep it strong and ever-changing. When a flower faces a storm, its roots will grow deeper and stronger, ready for the next conflict. Your confidence will endure and grow stronger the same.
4. Coat your confidence
This is most important. It's why I saved it for last. Coat your confidence with inSECTurity away. I'm not kidding.
Insecurities will always be buzzing about, ready to seek, drown and destroy the confidence that you whole heartedly bloomed. Protect it, water it, feed it, and shine the light onto it daily. Speak life into your confidence so that nothing can bring it down. You never know the type of impact it might make in not only yours, but someone else's life.
Confidence is not only bloomed, it's beautiful.
"Confidence isn't walking into a room thinking you are better than everyone, it's walking in not having to compare yourself to anyone at all!"

My confidence suffered a big time last year. I think your points just affirmed my conviction we do have the responsibility to nurture it so it would bloom. -Nina Nichols-
