You have been lied to, encouraged, betrayed, befriended, gossiped about, lifted up, judged by the first impression, welcomed with open arms, felt loss, gained reward, traveled afar, been uncertain, judged by others who only knew you through careless words, and defended by those who have had the courage.
Fact is, life takes you on a ride. Being an emotional and strong person, at the same time, can be exhausting and exhilarating all at once.
Sharing this contradicting part of you can also be a task in itself.
Understand, you are not alone.
Here are three simple, sharable truths:
1. We cry, a lot.
Our tears do not signify we are weak.
Our tears do not mean we are careless, need sympathy, or advice. Our tears are the released overflow of all absorbed action, emotion, and events taking place around us, daily. It's our way of speaking without the use of words. Every little thing in life is absorbed, and eventually, our emotional sponge becomes heavy and it all comes flowing out from the simplest touch from life.
2. We apologize, often.
We are typically the ones to apologize first.
Understand, we do this because we elevate peace above all else. Our tender hearts thrive on mended spirits. Most of the time, our apologies are not only for you but for us. It gives us freedom. We understand that a negative disruption between two souls is worth so much more. We are brave, we step up, willingly apologize first, and then swiftly move forward. The strength in our apologizes typically leave a lasting impression.
3. We let go, easily.
Life's curveballs do not linger.
Although we are emotional, apologize often, and share our tears, we do not allow the attached events to linger. Once our sponge is rung free, we move on. We are eager spirits ready to absorb, experience, and allow our senses to take on the next events around us. You won't find us holding grudges, drowning in regret, or bringing down the world around us. Quite frankly, our absorbent life doesn't have room for that!
To all who can relate, be encouraged. Stay steadfast in your strength and emotional journey!
